If you've heard me say this once, you've heard me say it a thousand times (and you'll hear me say it a thousand times more): Everything you need to succeed is already inside you. You just have to let it out.
The 'it' you're going to let out is your own personal brand of genius. It's there inside you, prodding at your gut telling you to build your business or career around it. You can feel it, and you may try to ignore it, but it refuses to be silenced. Good. Because once you grab a hold of it and put it to work - once you let it out - that's when success floods into your business and your career.
You may have already unleashed your personal genius. If not, it's a combination of what you love, what you're good at, what the world needs, and what you can get paid for. Combine those and 'BANG'! You've cracked the code to success.
How do you know you've found your genius?
When I was pregnant, I asked my obstetrician how I'd know I was in labour. He smiled and simply said, "You'll know". The same applies here. You'll know.
Fear turns to excitement, hesitation turns to determination, and quitting no longer becomes an option. You feel a fire ignite in your gut and it burns ferociously. Literally, you can feel it. Next time you feel excited about something, notice the internal feelings in the area just below your breast-bone. That's your solar plexus and it's where we feel all our emotions.
When you're working in your zone of genius, what previously felt like an uphill slog now feels like the most obvious route to take to get where you're going. You feel light and energized instead of exhausted. You're clear and confident instead of overwhelmed and confused, and the thought of not making it never enters your head. Self doubt becomes a distant memory, and you have rock-solid faith that what you're intending to achieve is absolutely, no questions asked, one hundred percent possible.
Once you find your genius and let it out, you're unstoppable. Passion takes over and drives you to get to where you're going. There's an energy in this process that attracts people, opportunities, and success to you. Whether you're building or growing your own business or climbing the corporate ladder, this process is exactly the same. You can do anything you darn well please once you tap into what's already inside you. If you don't believe me, try it. Give it a go. What have you got to lose? Go deep inside your mind and soul and pull out that thing that lights you up and sets you on fire. Grab a hold of that thing that jump-starts your passion and enthusiasm and let the darn thing out!
Success comes fast and often once we tap into what's been inside us all along. It takes courage to let it out. Be brave, take a stand, BE YOURSELF!
